Dallas Dhu Distillery
June 16, 2000
What would a trip to Scotland be without a visit to a distillery? Dallas Dhu was built during Victorian times. Although the distillery no longer operates, it is open as a museum. This actually gives you a better chance to see the equipment and methods of making the water of life, whiskey. We bought a bottle of single malt that was distilled in 1979 when they stopped production. Historic Scotland Logo
We enjoyed the self-guided audio tour, particularly since we were the only people in the whole museum. It seems visitors don't stray too far from Edinburgh at this time of year because a number of place we visited in the Highlands were devoid of tourists.
