Alexa and David and I went snowboarding last night. It was cold and clear and no wind. Great weather but it was ice covered by a layer of ice granules. Alexa actually enjoyed it and was bombing in front of both of us. I blame the remains of my cold for my slowness. Bar service was crap again and I vowed (again) to write to the management - must do, must do.

My new Palm arrived on Wednesday. It is a joy – it is brand spanking shiny new and it synchronizes really quickly. I took it to work, synched it up and tidied up a pile of stuff. Then on my way out, I put it in my backpack and headed out the door. The problem was I had not closed my pack up and the Palm went flying. It crashed to the floor, cover, pen, batteries flying everywhere. I am in shock. I assemble it and try and turn it on – nothing! Fuck, Fuck, Fuck. I go home. I don’t even look at it for 10 minutes. I want to smash my head against a wall. Then I get it out and remember the reset button. I press it and the Palm logo pops up. It had done a hard reset some how. I am okay, just need to re-sync when I get back to work.

I am reading "The Magic Daughter: A Memoir of Living With Multiple Personality Disorder" by Jane Phillips which is very good. Talk about getting into someone's head. A tough woman, reminds me of Alex. I am looking forward to hearing what she thinks of it.

I am at home today; sick with a cold, so I thought I would start a blog. I want to use this to record stuff in my life so that when I write to friends I can scan back to see what I have been up to and what I have been thinking about. If you have stumbled on this some how good luck but you know you should be looking at all the porn out there like everyone else.

I am going through a once every 10 year phase where I play Civilization I every spare second I get. I was up till 4:00 am this morning. I knew I was going to phone in sick, because I WAS sick, but I thought I would get a good night’s sleep. Anyway I finished that particular game, got the high score, got my people into space. I knew I could finish it before the sun came up. Oh and “I don’t play video games”. I am scared to start it up now. The whole plan was stay home sick and play the game. Now I am a bit overdosed but I know I will have to go back….Alex(a) and I went to Alex’s last Saturday for wine, pizza and Pictionary. Randah, Brian and Rob made up the contingent. Haven’t seen R for yonks. Her hair is longer but otherwise the same. She seems happy with Brian. We got quite drunk and the women beat the blokes quite easily despite a strong start – bugger. I ended up with my shirt off (again – boring) and covered in ink – face and chest (again – boring) including the word LOVE written in red on my stomach and an arrow pointing down into my pants. I didn’t remember that happening when I discovered it the next morning. I will have to find a new party piece soon, I am getting too predictable.
Sunday, Alex and I went to see K-PAX at Denman. A delightful film with Kevin Spacy. I enjoyed it a lot.
My Palm is dead! This is a major catastrophe. Anyone who has tried to have more than a 10 minute conversation with me will attest to it being a crucial part of my day to day existence. It started to fade last week and so I had already arranged its replacement, due this week hopefully. I was just hopping it would last until the new one arrived. How am I going to see how bad my stocks are doing? Tisk!

Steve and Pat are coming to Vancouver. We are going up to Whistler for a few days. I just booked 9 nights for us at Legends at Creekside. Got quite a good deal - $152 ish per night for a one bedroom plus den. We go up on the 29th of Jan.
