With a personal history that would fill a ten-volume encyclopedia, Anastasia is arguably the oldest vampire living in the city. Her relationship with Miami goes back almost a century, when she turned her attention to the swampy lands of south Florida. When civilization started drifting down to the new promised land, Anastasia also made the journey, seeing in the future a city that would be hers to rule.
Anastasia rose to lead the Toreador in Miami, and has done so for the past 50 years or so. She is responsible, from the shadows, for the creation of Coral Gables, the Biltmore Hotel, as well as a handful of clubs over the years, the most recent being The Darkness over at South Beach. She holds stocks in more than a few bussinesses in downtown Miami, including two banks (Nationsbank and First Trust), import/export operations, three warehouses, two restaurants, and an art gallery soon to open in South Beach under Nina's management.
Anastasia appears to be in her mid-twenties. At 5'9" she is a tall and imposing woman, even without her vampiric charm. Her hair is a deep shade of red and it appears to be alive, glowing depending on her mood, while her emerald green eyes hypnotize without a word. Her body is full, shapely and toned. She prefers to wear dresses, formal for work and expensive fashions for all other times. Her voice is deep and silky, enveloping the listener, capturing their attention like a fly caught in a spiderweb without hope of escape.
Currently Anastasia is still in control of the Toreador, and is Prince of Miami all but in name. In fact, except for (and were not for) Diego, she is is the most powerful vampire in the city.
Tall, muscled and sporting the likeness of a Greek statue. This is how many have described the man known as Kolya during the years of his long life. A native of the Ukraine, Kolya has risen from the ranks of novices to become an Elder in the city of Miami alongside Anastasia.
Kolya is a renaissance man born in the wrong time period. A follower of all the arts, he truly enjoys performing, a talent that brought him to the attention of a certain Toreador many years ago and to the world of the Kindred. Kolya is very serious, but very warm with those he calls friends. He is, deep inside, a "sentimental fool," as he puts it. Over the years, he tried to Embrace childes he thought would benefit from the Becoming, but a fatal flaw inside of him made these childes be born weak, and the three of them died shortly after. He promised he would never try to Embrace anyone again...until he met Nina.
With Nina he decided to risk it all, and it paid off. Although not as stronmg as she should be, given Kolya's generation, she remained strong and survived the Embrace. Kolya and Nina have a Father-figure/best-friend relationship, and he cares for her more than he lets show. As an Elder, Kolya holds much power in Miami, and he personally owns four properties in different spots of the city and county, as well as being one of the creating forces behind Cocowalk, in Coconut Grove. In fact, it has been between Kolya's insistance and Anastasia's money that more and more cultural events have been coming down to the cultural asteland that has been Miami for the past years.
Kolya is soft spoken, and possesed of a deep voice that carries across rooms. He dresses in tailor-made, designer suits fashioned for different activities: work, formal parties and cocktails, clubbing. Currently he goes bald, which makes him look even more chiseled, and sporting a goatee on and off.
The second Toreador Elder is a woman whom the Embrace gave so much more than what it took away. "An angel that kills," as she has often been described, Minerva is a creature of emotions, which can, aften ends up being, a dangerous combination when coupled with the heightened senses and feelings Kindred experience.
Minerva and Anastasia share a mother/daughter relationship, but no one knows for sure whether Minerva is actually Anastasia's mortal daughter or her childe, although most suspect it's the latter. Regardless of, Anastasia refers to Minerva as her daughter, and Minerva, from time to time, refers to Anastasia as Mother. This has caused problems for the Elder, as she struggles to step out the shadow of her mother. Both are headstrong and once set in their thinking, no amount of reasoning can change them, which has also caused friction between them.
Almost a heavenly vision, Minerva has what can only be described as angelic features. Her has a sweet look to it that she uses to her advantage all the time. Her lips are full and ruby-red naturally, while her eyes are the same color as Anastasia's, emerald green, infused with an inner glow. She prefers flowing dresses that highlight and call attention to her shapely body, something she likes to do on a regular basis. She is frivolous and cold at times, but when something or someone calls her attention or earn her respect and/or love, she is the most dedicated and passionate creature on Earth.
Minerva decided recently to leave the city; her future lies along a different path than that of Anastasia and the city of Miami.
Carlos is a somewhat young vampire. A Cuban immigrant that came to Miami in the 60's, right after Castro came to power, he rapidly made Miami his new home. With the infusion of more Cuban immigrants escaping Cuba, Miami soon became a whole new city, one with a very distinct latin flavor to it, which slowly made it easier for the latin population to live in the city without the discrimination that existed in the beggining of the Cuban exile. It was in these times that Carlos thrived.
Carlos, from the beggining, found himself involved in the nightly club world, working in different bars and clubs as bartender, waiter or bouncer. It was this way that he eventually came into fortune when the owner of one of the clubs he worked at recognized the young man's effort and appointed him manager. For the next two years Carlos made the club's profits grow threefold, a testament to his managerial skills. However, as good as he was at his job, Carlos lacked much initiative. His skill at following orders was, however, exemplary, and he always carried them to the letter. It was for this ability that the Ventrue chose him.
Carlos' association with the Ventrues was short-lived, though. He found them to be highly manipulative, and their goals often conflicted with his own sense of honor. That, and the fact that Carlos and Cameron, the Ventrue Primogen, hated each other from day one. This all led to Carlos renouncing the clan.
Anastasia had already employed Carlos in his mortal days, and knowing all that transpires in the city, once Carlos broke with the Ventrue, Anastasia offered him a position in her club and in her clan. She trusted the young Kindred to do an outstanding job on both fronts, and to this day she hasn't been proven wrong.
Carlos is still a kid at heart, a trait his Embrace did not take away. He often jokes in the least unlikely of situations as well as do things that either draw laughs or questioning looks from his friends. At work, however, he is all bussiness, never breaks under pressure and will guard those he cares for with his life if need be.
Little is known about the Nosferatu known only as Shadow. Although young, he has already positioned himself in a position of power and fame, by allying himself with the powers that be in Miami. This, on the other hand, has caused Shadow to be persona non grata among the Camarilla Kindred, as few ever knows where his true allegiance lies.
Although nothing is known for certain of his life before the Embrace, it is known that he used to serve Anastasia indirectly, gathering information from the streets, doing late-night, back-street deliveries and such. When he was Embraced by the Nosferatu, Anastasia revealed her true nature to Shadow, employing him once again in his undeath. Shadow, however, was resentful of the Primogen, as he slowly understood his nature and origin. Why hadn't the beautiful vampire Embraced him, instead of allowing the monsters do so? This cancer would grow and fester, eating his heart, until the moment of retribution came along.
When the Sabbat returned to the city of Miami, the Nosferatu were alerted immediately to stay out of their way, in fear that they would be hunted down. Shadow, however, saw this as an oportunity to obtain his revenge, and risked his life to contact Diego, the Lasombra leader. Diego met with the young vampire, much to the opposition of his pack, and in the end struck a deal with the Nosferatu, now an antitribu. Shadow returned to the sewer-kingdom below, to his clan, to do what he had always done, gather information, just for a different buyer this time. Shadow has kept his façade succesfully for some time now, a testimony to his skill. But is he really fooling everyone, or just fooling himself?
Shadow, at 5'10", is of average height and built. The curse of his bloodline ravished him, leaving his features a mere mockery of his once human body. He always dresses in black, fatigues and skintight suits for work, with extravagant suits and tuxedos being his favorites for special ocassions. He also hides his face at all times, be it with a mask, a scarf wrapped around it or a hat. Only those he truly cares for does he let see his true visage. Nina was the last one he showed.
High-class, uptight and obviously rich, Cameron enjoys the power he aquired by becoming a vampire. Of high station in life, he was chosen for the Embrace because of the finantial assets he would bring to the clan as well as his skill managing money. Brash, upstart and hardly thoughtful, Cameron advanced the ladder of power even with all these traits against him. While in New York, rumors of Miami in ruins, in need of a Prince, reached his ears, and ever the rushing fool he gathered his coterie and flew down to the city in order to claim it for clan Ventrue. It was this foolish brashness that blinded him to the events happening in the city and to the manipulations of elder Kindred. He was indeed Prince of the city, if only for a few days before the Toreador opposed him and the Lasombra emerged from the shadows.
Currently Cameron is nothing but a pawn. Forced to ally with the Toreador in order to fight the Lasombra, Cameron has become a mockery of what a Ventrue should be. He still holds the rank of Primogen, mostly due to the fact that there's no other older Kindred to challenge his position. He's 6'2" and of medium build, with dirty blonde hair kept just long enough to sport the ponytail look. Dressed in designer suits, he also likes the sweater-over-the-shoulders look, and for some odd reason, he actually misses playing golf under the midday sun.
