Winter in Homer...
Homer is located on the Kenai Penninsula in southcentral Alaska. About an hour after we got there, this blizzard roared in off of the ocean. Needless to say, we didn't see much. So, pretend then that you can actually see that this road extends out into the harbor on a narrow strip of land called the "Homer Spit", with beautiful mountains in the background and sea otters and harbor seals playing in the water.
This is Sonja at Anchor Point, Alaska, just outside of Homer. You can see Cook Inlet in the background and can barely make out the mountains on the Alaska Penninsula. You can't tell it from the photo, but the windchill was around -40F.
