The Apostles' Creed

I /We believe in God the Father Almighty Creator of heaven and earth;
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son our Lord,
who was coceived by the Holy Spirit,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended into hell;
on the third day He rose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven,
sits at the right hand of God,
from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
I/We believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Holy Catholic Church,
the community of Saints,
the forgivness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life ever lasting.
Amen.

T his simple creed sums up the belief of the Catholic Church. It is often said during Masses for children instead of the Nicene Creed, and as part of the rosary.
