Blender Recipes

Here are two different versions of the same basic recipe.

Make a big chicken dinner.  Save all Bones, YES CHICKEN BONES and all meaty scraps too.  Put in pressure cooker with water and cook at a major rock for a hour or so.  Cool these goodies rapidly with the cold water trick.  Put cooked product in food processor with the big blade thingee, :-) scramble heck out of this till its like syrup.  Then run it through your blender.
Put in tupperware container with large opening as upon chilling it turns to paste like jar meat baby food consistancy.  After bitch whelps and isn't really feeling like eating, scoop a cup in a measuring cup and microwave for a minute or two till nice and warm.  Pour over chow; mix and serve.
This is high in calcium and is only for after whelping so not to cause any problems such as eclampsia.

        Soooper Chicken For Dogs
(taken from Successful Dog Breeding, The Complete Handbook of Canine Midwifery, by Chris Walkowicz and Bonnie Wilcox DVM.  This is a great book, very down to earth and easy to follow.)

This recipe is an excellent source of protein and calcium.

Save all your poultry skins, bones, and unwanted extras.  You can also use leftover broths and vegetables and their juices.  Place in Crock pot and cover with water.  Sprinkle with garlic salt.  Cook on high for 4-5 hours.  Turn on low for another 20 hours.  Scoop bones, broth, and all into blender/food processor.  Make sure all bones are soft.  (Turkey bones do take longer.)  Blend on high until completely liquid.  Pour into empty containers and refrig or freeze, defrosting as needed.  The mixture looks similar to choclate pudding.  Stir one heaping spoonful into regular meal.
DOGS NEED NOT BE PREGNANT TO ENJOY THIS TREAT.  Its great for finicky eaters too.
