News!
Keep your eyes peeled for a special page on our Halloween Party, with lots of photos, and instructions for the activities we did.
But until we finish that, here's what else we've been up to:
This was a fun night where each patrol had to organise what they wanted to
do. One patrol made chocolate chip muffins. Yum! Another patrol made a
chocolate cake. But we didn't have a cake tin and had to cook it in a billy!
Next time, someone will have to remember the tin. One patrol had a Teddy
Bears' Picnic. They had honey sandwiches, and played some 'beary' games. The
last patrol did some spider activities - made a barking spider, and made a
collage of a spider using stuff they found in the park. At the end of the
night, we played "Wheel of Fortune" with one of the Guide Laws, and
everyone got some lollies.
We decided to help the Support Group (who make sure that the hall is looked
after, and raise money for us), by helping to organise a lucky dip. First we
made wrapping paper using really big sheets of paper, and painting them with ice
cubes. But these were special ice cubes, they had food dye in them, so when they
melted, we made nice patterns on the paper. The next week we worked really hard,
and wrapped over 300 lucky dips! Some of the prizes were really cool, and some
were really tricky to wrap (especially the tennis balls).
Christmas Party
We haven't had our Christmas Party yet, but it's going to be very exciting. We're going to have a picnic at the pool! But we'll have to make sure we eat after we go for a swim, or we'll get cramps.
Some of us have been really busy doing badges. Two of us have finished our Junior BP, which is the hardest badge to get for our age. We had a night last week where some of us had organised activities to help finish some badges. One patrol made a poster about community services, another patrol made an extra special effort on their web page. The rest of us played some games, and started writing letters to a unit in America. If you want to find out more about our badges, have a look at the badges page.
