TO BILLY

He's a handsome young guy with a big winning smile
You never would guess he'd been sick quite a while
He's shown such Courage ~~and that's plain to see
I'll bet there are many who'd agree with me

If I could write music, I'd make him a song
I'd throw in notes of sunshine that'd last all day long
I'd hire angels to sing and to play his guitar
They'd light up his room like a bright shining star

There'd be drums and trumpets and harps sparkling bright
They'd sing from morning clear into the night
But I can't write music, never could sing on key
But dear Billy, I can give you this message from me!

"I offer you all my hopes and my prayers
I wish you but joy and release from your cares
I wish you a life full of friendships and joy
For you are such a terrific boy~~

I'm sure that God smiles at you special like
I know you are never out of his sight!
I wish you gallons of courage each day
I pray the Doctors have good stuff to say

Keep fighting the fight, Billy, one day at a time
And remember I'm praying, young friend of mine.
I wish I could write music and make you a song
And send many angels to sing all night long

your new friend
