A Prayer For Hannah And Her Parents

By Vickey Stamps

Dear Lord, I come to you today and bring a special prayer
Would You all the burdens of Hannah’s parents bear?
I know the prayers of others are arriving every day
I know that angels fly beside her each step along her way
But she is such a tiny thing, so fragile to behold
She’s like a precious little gem, more valuable then gold
It must be hard for her to understand why she is sick
But she still has her courage and her laughter still comes quick
Do you think that you could send an extra evening breeze?
And could you have those angels give this child a special ‘squeeze’
Could the covers placed upon her as she goes to sleep at night
Be softer then the softest silk and help her sleep just right
Could you send the scent of roses to float beneath her nose?
Would you wash her soul with blessings from her head down to her toes?
And should there lay nearby you Lord, a miracle or two
Please send one down for Hannah so her parents won’t be blue
And in the meantime, Lord, I pray that love will win the game
And the sting of cancer will be killed. Lord, less would be a shame
Guide the staff in all they do and give them wisdom true
I lay my prayer here at your feet. Lord, it’s all that I can do.

God Bless You Sweet Hannah!
