Francisco Benavides

Francisco, a native of Mexico, received his bachelor's degree in international relations from ITESM in Monterrey, Mexico.
During his studies, Francisco helped establish the Latin American chapter of the International Institute of Management and Conflict Resolution in Monterrey.
He also participated in the State of the World Forum with former Rotary International President Frank Devlyn.
Upon graduating from the university, Francisco volunteered with the Global Children's Organization in Croatia for a year.
Following his time in Croatia, Francisco returned to Monterrey and now works as a journalist for the El Norte newspaper.
He hopes to use his experience as a Rotary World Peace Scholar to help him participate in the creation of a strategic center that would focus on the reduction of urban violence.
