Geoffrey Worssam compiled Notes On The Origin Of The Name Worsham that descends from Robert & Olive (Todman) Worsham. A copy of his notes are in the Library of Congress. Geoffrey lived in Swanage, Eng. and for many years did research on the Worsham & Worssam family name along with his cousin Leslie Worssam of Sevenoaks, Eng. Geoffrey died Oct 1994 in Canada. Leslie stated in a letter to Pat Kruse dated 13 Mar 1996 that within Worsham families there have been various ways of spelling the surname. Worsham was the usual spelling down to 1770 although there was one entry as Worsum and one as Worsam. Leslie has copies of wills of various Worshams & other similar surnames from the 16th century but none have made any reference to sons William & George. Leslie also wrote: "The very presence of these wills from groups point to there having been a number of other families who have since disappeared or the surnames have progressively changed to something not immediately associated with Worsham."

The following two sections are primarily the result of the research of Geoffry Worssam.

The Richard Worsham  section is mostly from "Extant UK Branch #3, "Worsham .. Worsam of Wootton St. Lawrence, Worting & Farnham", by Geoffrey E. Worssam of Swanage, England, Jun 1986. This descendant tree was furnished by Antony "Tony" Worsam of Cheltenham, England, 2002.
