Subclass: Author

Backstory: Wote's tale is one frought with great deeds, terrible curses, tragedy, comedy and... Okay, I'm lying. Wote was once a normal teenager, living in a small city, in a relatively normal world. He was (basically) an aspiring writer/artist (though, frankly, he sucked at both) and consequently spent many hours practicing. One night, as he was posting on an IF on the Starmen.net message boards, he nodded off...

It's never a pleasant thing to wake up in Deep Darkness when you last remember being in your room. After assessing his situtation, Wote determined that he'd been blinded, and thus began shambling about aimlessly. What? I never said he was sensible. Anyway, the fallen Author, by some miracle, wandered into the Tenda Village, where he quickly discovered his new form, this:

Wote sprite, because I can't draw ^_^;

Soon after, Wote figured out how to use the nifty ninja powers that his new look granted him. Not that I know how, mind you. I'm just stating the facts here. But, yeah, that's pretty much all. He's an idiot ninja who just kinda, wanders about...

Moving on (before I begin to sound stupider...)

Personality: Wote is not really an idiot. He's just, well, very absentminded and somewhat dense about things. BUT, he is a fairly trustworthy fellow, and will help anyone he can, regardless of the threat posed. Most observers agree that it is less courage and more madness. Evidence of this comes from his odd penchet for carrying a smoke bomb or two to create a "low-density particle cloud" whenever he introduces himself to others. Of course, there's also his strange problem with falling asleep in a tree in one town and waking up in completely different town, but, I digress. Dispite his unwise decisions (most of the time), Wote is actually fairly smart, when he remembers, that is.

Skills:

Throwing: What did you expect? He's a ninja in an RPG world; of course he can throw crap. But, unlike other members of his trade, Wote can use practically anything as a projectile. This leads to his next talent...

Improvization: Due to his absentminded nature, Wote often finds himself either unarmed, deprived of items, or armorless. To combat this, Wote has mastered the art of Improvization. In his hands, anything that can be used in a certain manner, can be. For example, when deprived of smoke bombs, Wote will kick up the ground around him to try and simulate the smoke bomb effect. Or, in a more practical sense, Wote can use, say, a manhole cover for shielding, and a cat as a throwing weapon (though that would be a very rare case... poor kitty :( ).

Ninja "magic": Really, this is nothing more than a group of devices Wote had the Apple Kid rig up for him to produce various effects. Mostly though, he uses them to create fireballs or flashes of light, the purpose of which are obvious. The only problems with these devices are that they a) can be lost and b) require 2 D cell batteries, which normally run out after 10-15 shots. The current units include:

Deus Ex Machina: Due to Wote's extradimensional nature, he possesses the power to temporarily manifest himself in a more powerful form. There are limitations though. First, the situation must be almost totally hopeless (i.e. almost everyone is KO'd/dead, the bad guy just started the timer to blow up Fourside, etc.). Secondly, he only has enough power to perform a few actions before reverting. Then, he's rendered almost helpless for about 20 minutes. However, while in "Author Mode," Wote lives up to the technique's name, and can "create" a plot device to help his allies. This is accomplished through a sudden halt to the flow of time, which gives Wote a chance to concieve of how, exactly, to "fix" things. Honestly, he can manifest almost any contrivence to overcome the bad guys:

Honestly, if it can be contrived, it can be done in this state, assuming the intended action isn't too contrived.
