Inside the Vivarium
The frog tank is, and has been, under construction for the past few weeks. It was just recently put together. It consits of a layer of pea-gravel (thoroughly rinsed), a thin layer of charcoal, and a thick layer of dirt (with no fertilizer or other chemicals). The bottom right corner was left with no dirt or charcoal, just gravel, and it's blocked off with rocks. This way when it was watered, the corner filled up and we have a little pond. Eventually this tank will look better. We need a background too, just haven't decided what to use yet.

The plants are a bromiliad, pothose, orchid, ivy, moss, and one other small leafed plant, not sure what it's called.

Here is the pond, it looks very shallow in the picture, but it actually has some fish in it.

This is Crook and Chase, two normal guppies. Now, you can't see it in the picture but Crook is horribly deformed. Her back bone is VERY bent, it goes up and sideways, but she swims fine. I have known the owner of the pet store where I got her for years, and when I bought Chase, she put Crook in the bag too, I didn't notice 'til we got home. It was probably a joke or just to get rid of her, but I kept her. Crook and Chase eat up the stupid fruit flies that drown themselves in the pond :) And so far they've done a good job...no more floating dead flies.

This is right above the pond. We have added a picture background outside the tank for now so you can't see my ugly pink walls LOL. Hopefully the Ivy (right) will get long enough to be wrapped around the log.

This is the other side of the tank. Gizmo hides here most often...her sleeping quarters is in one of the leaves of the bromiliad. She has now figured out where the fruit flies fall every morning when she's fed, so she comes out and sits on the cork piece under the orchid waiting for food.

This is the bromiliad when it had a flower. It will not flower anymore, but hopefully it will sprout new plants and they will flower.

This is the orchid with flowers. They have since gone too, but there are new shoots on the plant that will hopefully produce more of these beautiful flowers.
