Trailering Alternatives
Mast-Stepping the WR16
There are several alternatives to simply raising the Windrider mast in place.
Several WR16 owners have devised mast stepping devices to make
this operation easier and safer for the solo-sailor.
The Mast-Stepping Shield
The procedure, according to its designer:
"Simply butt the end of the mast against the shield and walk the mast up hand over hand until you are straight up and
then just drop it in. Easy. To lower the
mast just reverse the procedure."
