Day 8: Giants Game, Pier 39, Sausalito

Northern California We got up this morning and I went into the hot tub one more time before leaving. I remember thinking to myself that this was way to much for one night stay and would not be back here again. We left around 8:00 as we had decided to go into San Francisco today and see the Giants play a baseball game. We were going to drive down highway 1 as we had not driven the northern part of this highway before. The drive was nice as it was hot out and we had the top down. It took us a couple hours to get into San Francisco as we did not find many places to stop but just enjoyed the scenery. It's not like Big Sur area as there is less rocky area and just a view of the ocean. You are driving on more flat land and many fields with cattle in this area to.

We drive straight to Candlestick Park and was able to get into the game. Its a nice day at the park and we eat lunch there as they now have good food at Giant baseball games. Cindy has their chowder in a sour dough bread and I have a hot sandwich. It was also a fun game to go to as the Giants killed Montreal by a score of 14-7. I believe Barry Bonds had 2-3 homers in this game. There were also fireworks after the game as the Giants would now be going on the road for the next week and not be here for July 4th

Tommy's Joynt w/ Buffalo Stew We went into Tommy's Joynt for dinner tonight as we had their Buffalo and an assortment of the 63 imported beers. We stop here all the time when in San Francisco as it has the best stew I have ever had. The buffalo stew is so tender and rich that it is a great dish to have with an imported beer. This is a Hof Brau that has been here for 45 years and there is allot of history that is left through out the years that is on the walls inside. A class place that is worth going to at least once. I go back every time now when I'm in San Francisco.

We go back into Sausalito to go to a jazz bar called the No-Name Bar which usually has jazz music at night. Tonight they have a three piece band playing older jazz music. The crowd is between 30-50, and pretty laid back crowd tonight. We stay here for an hour or two before going back to Berkeley. We had made reservations a couple nights ago for Berkeley at Travelodge for two nights. It's now about 1:00 and we decide that its time to get some sleep since we are taking the early boat to Alcatraz tomorrow.

We drove 250 miles today. 1800 total
