Size= 13.77" (35CM) pH= 6-8 Temperature= 22-28C (72-84F) Temperment= A peaceful species suitable for most aquariums. Minimum Tank Size and/or Tank Type= A 128-257G (500-1000L), community tank. Favourite Foods= Live & artifical foods, but mainly live foods. Other Info= This fish is a schooling fish, it is a rapid and expert swimmer. They should be kept in light and well covered tanks, as they are very good jumpers. This is a personal favourite of mine, even though I do not keep it. Breeding Info= TANK: With 128G (500L) capacity with a spawning grid. GENDER: The male has more highly coloured fins, the ripe female is fuller in the body. BREEDING RATIO: 2 Males : 1 Female (in a shoal). BREEDING WATER: 25-26C (78-80F); pH of 6.4-7; dCH < 2; dGH < 10. OTHER BREEDING INFO: Sexual maturity is reached at 6" (15CM). You should feed the fry brine shrimp nauplii.
