Other Info= This is a very nice and small fish, but they are somewhat expensive for there size, about $3.99CAN (Almost $2.60US). Breeding Info= TANK: With 1.5G (6L) capacity and spawning grid, a bunch of Cryptocoryne or broad-leaved plants. GENDER: The Male is slimmer and has the lower tip of the wedge extended downward to the central line of the belly. BREEDING RATIO: 1 Male : 1 Female BREEDING WATER: 26-28C (80-84F); pH of 6.5; dCH 9; dGH 6; filtered through peat. OTHER BREEDING INFO: Males & Females should be seperated for 10-14 days before spawning. The female deposits the eggs on the undersite of plant leaves; some fall to the bottom. The eleutherembryos are relatively large - 4mm, the incubation period is about 24 hours (1 Day) at 28C (84F). Endogenous nutrition last five days, you should feed the fry nauplii of brine shrimp or Cyclops. In the initial stage of rearing the fry the water column should be approxiamately 2-4" (5-10CM) high. Normal water is then added to the tank gradually to condition the fry to harder water. After 14 days the first indications of the wedge appear in the colouring of the young fish. At three months the fish should be 1" (3CM) long.
