Minimum Tank Size and/or Tank Type= A 51G (200L) monospecies tank, with a 2-4" (5-10CM) layer of fine sand on the bottom, a dim light filtered through floating plants, sufficent hiding places, such as minerilzed wood from moors covered by Java Moss or aquatics ferns such as Java Fern. Favourite Foods= It is a bottom feeder, so any food that falls to the bottom, mainly worms and larvae of aquatic insects Other Info= This fish can vary in coloration, it is poor swimmer. It digs holes vigoursly in the sand where it stays with only the close-set eyes visible, on their mouths they have three pairs of barbels. Because of this fish's habit of burrowing in the bottom, the sand must not be sharp or too coarse. Rooting plants must be put in pots submerged in the sand and surrounded with stones.
