This fish has a short life span about 2 years, some people think that this fish dies for the sake of it. Breeding Info= TANK: A tank with the capacity of 12G (50L) per breeding pair, diffused light, hiding places and flat stones on the bottom. GENDER: The female has a fuller and redder belly and the second ray of the dorsal fin, unlike that of the male, is only a little extended. BREEDING RATIO: 1 Male : 1 Female BREEDING WATER: 24-26C (76-80F); pH of 6.5-7; dCH < 1; dGH < 10. OTHER BREEDING INFO: The parents care for the eggs and the fry. The eggs can be transfered to a nursery tank, as the presence of the parent fish is not nessecary. The eggs are greyish-yello. The incubation period is about 96 hours (4 days). You should feed the fry brine shrimp or Cyclops nauplii. The fish are lithophilic - the female deposits 300-400 eggs on a firm object. Endogenous nutrition last eight days.
