1970 BOSS 302

Here's a little history on this BOSS

I sell this Boss with a heavy hart. Though I have yet to actually drive this car since it has been in my position, I know the car well. It represents a youth and freedom that I had in my early twenty’s.

This Boss belonged to a good friend of mine, Dennis Ramsey. We had fun times back then, mostly hanging out and street racing. This Boss has seen late night action at the 30th street extension (where legendary Don Garlets used to street race), Morris Bridge Road and the infamous Gandy bridge (all in Tampa, Fl). There was even a newspaper article written in the Tampa Tribune about this Boss and street racing (click here to see the article). Memories of cursing to Clearwater Beach with the “buds”, dueling down Hwy 60 (at the time I had a 71 SS 454) and flying around the I-275 “malfunction junction” at 2:00AM, 128 MPH and all 4 wheels screeching as we drifted through the corner. Those were the days.

Story has it that Dennis brother, David bought the car from a second owner, a girl who received it as a graduation present. The Boss had a heavy racing clutch at that time, and the girl didn’t like it.

David brought it to Florida when the family moved here. Dennis bought the car from his brother in November 1981. I believe that it was on the road until around 1988 when Dennis pulled it apart for restoration. After years of prodding, I purchased the car around 1992 in its disassembled state.

I will be 40 this year, and with the wife and family comes less time for trinkets. Though I still have my 1965 fastback I purchased just out of high school, I will miss the car I never drove
