"There's something wrong with all of us, but that's for a different time." ~Sam

So.
You found our site and for some reason you decided to see what kind of lamer people would have the time to spend making this delightful little website.

Well. It's time for a little chat, don't you think? :)

It all began, in a far away universe, years and years ago when the world was in despair and a call for help was sent forth from the people of the earth for a savior . . .

Ok, ok. So the far away universe is also known as AOL, and we met approximately three years ago discussing The X-Files. Go figure. The West Wing soon permeated our deeply intelligent conversations, and it was time for a summer project anyway, so we figured, "why the hell not? Let's make a West Wing site so we can share our love of the show with everyone!"

(And then take over the world, but that's a minor note.)

Why call yourselves WWWhores?

Miranda needed a new screen name, and asked Jen for some help. She came up with "WWWhore" but it got vetoed due to the level of inappropriateness some people might find with it. However, the name stuck, and the collective group of fans became known as the WWWhores with titles and honors bestowed upon them by Miranda, Queen of the WWWhores.

It was later noted by Melody that we sell our souls every Wednesday night to Aaron Sorkin and the best actors on television for a little glimpse of beauty, and Rachel figured the WWW could also signify how we know each other from online - so it turns out we're even deeper and smarter than we originally thought! ;-)

How in the world did you get obsessed with West Wing?

Kari: Oh god.. Okay. It started around fall. My mom kept bugging me to watch it. Actually, so did Miranda, although I don't think she knew it at the time. So, I did. And it was okay. So I kept watching. And then Noel came on, and I was HOOKED. I now suffer from full blown WW-obssesion, whose symptoms include frantic tape watching, message board posting, fic reading, and general insanity.
Melody: Well, you see... I had seen tiny bits and pieces of the show, just incidentally. And I had always thought to myself "If I ever watched that show...I mean, really watched it, I would be so obsessed with it." There were occasions, even, when I would turn it on just to watch the opening credits. The theme song has always been an odd, but very powerful, source of inspiration for me. Anyway, my mom said to me, "Melody, if you think you'd like this show so much, you should record it and watch it sometime." So, I set up the VCR to record it. Recorded a couple of episodes, maybe. Never watched them. But online, Miranda and Kari were absolutely freaking out about this wonderful show. So, one night, I said to myself "I am going to sit down and watch this show." It was "The Stackhouse Filibuster." I fell in love. I was hooked! But even then, I was not obsessed. So, I had been watching the show for a couple of weeks. Then "17 People" aired. I was sick. And in my fever-induced stupor, I was incapable of thought higher than "I loooove thiis shoowww...." The Friday after that, literally the first thought I had when I woke up was "I must watch West Wing. I cannot wait until Wednesday to watch it again." I proceeded to go through every tape I had, looking for some of those episodes that I might have recorded earlier on, but never watched. I found "And It's Surely To Their Credit." I watched it. I watched it again. And again. And a true obsession was born.
Miranda: I watched Take This Sabbath Day, but do to school committments, couldn't really watch as much as I would have liked. Then came the night of Lies, Damn Lies, and Statistics, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Rachel: It was Miranda who got me hooked. She wouldn't shut up about this show. I was a little wary of it because it was my parents favorite show as well, and, of course in typical teen fashion if your parents like something, you really don't want to admit to liking the same thing. But I watched! And it just took off from there
Kat: My history teacher, who is vetty cool, told my class it was a great show so I checked it out... Twas the episode after Bartlet was shot (I'm bad with titles) and I was hooked. Been watching ever since.
Jen: Mom watched the show, and I caught a few first season eps. Then certain friends (Miranda!) talked about it all the time and I started watching reguarly. It was then I realized what a fantastic show it was and became obsessed :)
Julie: A little girl by the name of Kari. With help from Miranda. They basically talked about it a lot, told me to watch, etc.. and I kept forgetting (still do!) but one day I did. I sat down and watched it. And ze rest is, as zey say, history. (Even though I'm still really forgetful about watching it. :x Tuesday and Wednesday are the only school days I *don't* work so I'm like, constantly online and sometimes forget about WW.. eep!)

Alright then. Favorite character?

Kari: Josh! No. CJ. Well.. Josh. But CJ's too cool.. okay, I can't choose. I'm in love with Josh, but I worship CJ.
Melody: CJ, Josh, and Donna. CJ is a goddess, I adore Josh, and Donna is severely under-appreciated! Severely! And Toby is wonderful, and Leo is fantastic. And Sam is beautiful. Oh, God. ::flashes back to casual TTSD Sam:: ::remembers preppy, dancing Sam a la Manchester:: ::passes out::
Miranda: Leo. But I'm in love with Sam. It's the glasses, man.
Rachel: Charlie. Ahhh Charlie. Sweet sweet boy ;c) CJ of course, and Josh...oh how I love Josh. I want to hug him every second.
Kat: Sam!!!!!!!!!!!
Jen: I like Sam, Josh, and CJ. Don't make me pick between them.
Julie: Ainsley and Sam. Because Ainsley is so cute. As for Sam.. I don't need to explain why. Just look at him.

Here's an easier one. Favorite episode?

Kari: Noel. Galileo. ITSOTG! Crackpots! Stackhouse! IED! Aaah... Don't make me choose..
Melody: Hmm. This is even more difficult now that I've seen lots more episodes. Okay. These Crackpots and These Women, Galileo, The Stackhouse Filibuster, Noel, In The Shadow of Two Gunmen, Take This Sabbath Day, In Excelsis Deo (God, I LOVE that ending!!), and...annnnd... I think that's all.
Miranda: Easier? Hah. Stackhouse Filibuster and Take This Sabbath Day.
Rachel: Right now it's Noel. That episode is just so beautiful, it can't not be my favorite. But I'm in awe of *every* single show. The Crackpots and These Women, Lies Damn Lies and Statistics are close behind.
Kat: Two Cathedrals.
Jen: I only get to pick one? I'll go with Galieo :) Then again, I'm a newbie and really haven't seen much of the first season."
Julie: The one where Ainsley first joined. Because that was the first eppy I ever watched (I.. think). And the one that got me interested in the show. :) (Note from Kari: "In This White House.")

Do you do, like, anything else? Besides obsess?

Kari: Yeah. I actually go to school. And write fic.
Melody: I'm in college, I work at my local library, and I hang out with my friends. And make my friends watch West Wing. Hahah.
Miranda: I read, write, and dream about screwing Rob Lowe.
Rachel: I'm a slave to the school system for most of my days, but when given a choice of what to do...going to concerts, watching X-Files as well as West Wing, going out with friends.
Kat: I go to school, go running, write some stuff... and I do this nifty thing called breathing- it's really fun.
Jen: I work, I ride, I read, I make plans about what to do while in Paris, and I consider my obsession towards a certain someone (oh, wait, besides obsess....).
Julie: I try to learn more about the show. I'm still suuuch a WW newbie. A newbie-whore. But yeah.. I uh.. work. Go to school. Watch XF. And of course, follow my dear Padres.

Anything else you wanna add?

Kari: Yes. I'm a freak who likes CJ/Josh fic. And I'm in love with Bradley Whitford.
Melody: I signed every yearbook this year with "Learning is delightful and delicious--as, by the way, am I." Every single one that I signed had that quote. I think that says something. (Yes, that I am, perhaps, insane.)
Miranda: I'd sell my soul for these people.
Rachel: Viva la whippersnappers!
Kat: Sam is hot, especially with glasses :)
Jen: I had a goldfish named CJ until an unfortunate meeting between her and my father. I now have goldfish named POTUS and Josh :)
Julie: ::jumps Sam::

Sometimes, we're witty, sleek and charming.
Check it out.

I've had enough of you scary people!
Take me back to the brothel!
