Now we attach the riffles to the sides of the box.

1. Measure 1/2 inch back and 1/4 inch up from the bottom of long side pieces and drill a 1/8 hole in them. (see pic in next step). 

2. Place the riffles inside the box and space them up 1/4 to 1/8 inch depending on how thick the carpet you are going to put in the box is.

3. Mark the holes and measure the placement then use these measurements to mark a spot to drill a hole on the outside of the box.

4. drill a 1/8 hole through the side of the box and into the hole in the riffle.


 
 

After drilling the holes take the riffles out and snip the corner off so it doesn't catch the wood on the bottom of the sluice.

now get a screw and nut (the one in the picture is an 8/32)


 

Place the riffles in the box and put the screw in the hole.
place the nut on the screw and tighten it down.

Make sure everything hinges freely and nothing binds up.
