A Singular Reason

I’ve seen the earth
in all its glory;
I’ve seen catastrophic storms.
I’ve seen Mother Nature
in all her fury;
I’ve watched as the funnel-cloud forms.

I’ve witnessed brutality
in human nature;
I’ve seen sweet innocence taken.
I’ve known the looks
of Death and Life,
and felt the Truth forsaken.

I’ve reveled in smiles
and cried with joy;
I’ve known the slayer of strife -
The one sure thing;
the singular delight:
The factor of Love in life.
