Modifications

My car is basically stock but i have done a few small things to it

Homemade Intake

This mod is relatively easy and can be done in your own garage. First my friend and I removed the cars air resinator box, which is basically there to quiet the intake. Since the stock intake was routed to the front of the engine bay were it could not get enough cold air, we re-routed it down into the wheel well where it could recieve a lot more cold air. We used some sort of plastic flexible pipe(I can't remember what it's called but it cost 90 cents) to route the cold air towards the air filter. So really we created a ram air intake. To make sure that no junk would get stuck in the pipe that directs the air towards the air filter we made a mesh grill out of chicken wire. Does the homemade intake make a difference? Well it sure makes the car sound a whole lot cooler, but i can notice a very slight power increase and the engine rev's easier now.

Resetting the ECU

After making my homemade intake i reset my ECU. Why? Because after you upgrade your car with any aftermarket performance part you should reprogram your car's ECU to program new values. Such as intake, Exhaust, Headers, etc. This will make your car more efficient and even give you better gas mileage.

Future Modifications

Wheels

Kosei k1 Racing wheels

Integra gsr wheels
See my car with Gsr wheels.

I plan to either get Kosei K1 racing wheels or Integra gsr wheels for my Integra. I will probably end up with the gsr wheels because they are substantially cheaper.

Suspension

Next I plan to focus on handeling

Springs

For the springs I will buy some Eibach sportline's. Sportline Springs will give your car a low, race-replica look. The goal? A radical reduction in wheel well gap and improved handling. Eibach Pro-Kit Springs usually lower vehicles 1.00" -1.25" to provide the ultimate balance of cornering and ride comfort. Sportline Springs provide an increased drop typically 1.50" to 2.00". If I feel that the camber gets out of control with the new springs i will purchase an Eibach Alignment Kit.

Shocks

My first choice of shocks are the KYB AGX gas shocks, because of their quality and low cost. In other words they are a great bang for the buck. KYB AGX shock absorbers allow easy adjustment of the shock damping rate to tune the vehicle’s performance to meet the needs of the street, strip or track. KYB AGX Adjustable Gas shock absorbers are externally adjustable, so there is no need to disconnect or remove anything to change settings. Depending on the vehicle’s configuration, the damping rate is selected with an external knob on the side of the shock body or through a screwdriver inserted into a slot at the top of the strut’s piston rod. The KYB AGX shock absorber’s single damping adjustment changes the shock’s compression and rebound resistance at once.
