This directory is maintained by someone in the "UR-OTO". The entire reading list of the A∴A∴ (or almost all) is available in PDF format. The site is constantly gathering new &/or improved editions. While I personally prefer the feeling of a nice solid book in my hands, monetary constraints often cause me to locate a title online to determine if I truly need to spend the money for it. This site is invaluable.

By Swami Vivekananda, Raja-Yoga, the path of meditation and control of the mind, gives a scientific treatment of Yoga philosophy describing methods of concentration, psychic development and the liberation of the soul from bondage of the body. Raja-Yoga also includes Swami Vivekananda's translation and commentary of the "Yoga Aphorisms of Patanjali."

These are classics on Hatha Yoga, the practice of which is required.

A new translation of the classic text of Quietism, which still offers great insight and advice for spiritual prayer today.

This is Eliphas Levi's (1810-1875) best-known book. This work arguably made Levi THE most influential writer on magic since the Renaissance. Originally issued in French, the English translator is A.E. Waite and it is doubtful that anyone else could have better captured the essence of Levi's work. The book is divided in two parts; the first is theoretical, the second practical. This is a fascinating and often debated work.

Provides a clear and detailed account of the preparations and precautions necessary for the successful evocation of 72 spirits, which are described in detail. Mathers' introduction discusses the numerous manuscripts from which he made this translation.

This was the basis for Crowley's attainment of Knowledge & Conversation with his Holy Guardian Angel. After subsuming the information in this book, he was able to adapt it to his journey across China. The Thelemic interpretation of this document was put forth in Liber Samekh.

The book consists of 93 chapters, each consisting of one page of text of various kinds, including poems, rituals, instructions, and obscure allusions and cryptograms. The subject of each chapter is generally determined by its number and its corresponding Qabalistic meaning. Around 1921, Crowley added a short commentary to each chapter, assisting the reader in the Qabalistic interpretation.Perhaps one of Crowley's more sublime works.
