| The fact that Xena was so short tempered troubled Gabrielle as she thought to herself. Why did she get so angry? I didn't even do anything. Imagine if I did just tell her. I would hate to see how she would react to that. There had to be something wrong with her but what. Rethinking their conversation Gabrielle begins to wonder. Maybe she is jealous? Maybe she does have feeling's for me? I dont know why else she would get so upset. How do I explain to her that she is the one I was talking about? If I am wrong about her, if she's not jealous, than what would she think? I dont know what to do anymore. Just then she heard a familiar voice"Gabrielle, it's so good to see you" She looked up to see Ephiny standing before her. There she was right in the middle of the village and didn't even realize it she was so caught up with her thought's. "Ephiny, how are you?" "Great, I am joining with our newly elected queen Shariah. Well, that is the queen while your gone. You'll love her." Although happy for her friend, Gabrielle could'nt hide the sadness in her voice as she congradulated Ephiny. "Gabrielle, is something wrong?" "Funny you should ask, there is something bothering me. That's why I came. Do you think we could go somewhere and talk?" "Sure, why dont we go to my hut. I wasn't supposed to leave it anyway." Ephiny takes Gabrielles arm and they begin to walk. They pass through the village and eveyone welcomes Gabrielle, and scolds Ephiny for being seen before the ceremony, as they make their way to Ephiny's hut. Once inside Gabrielle sits at the table and begins to cry. "I dont know what to do Ephiny. It's about Xena." "Where is Xena? Is she O.K? What happened?" "No it's nothing like that she's fine. I'm the one with the problem. See I realized a while ago that I have feeling's for Xena, but can't seem to tell her. I'm not sure how she feels about me." "Gabrielle surely you know that Xena loves you. Did you try to talk to her at all?" She said as she sat next to Gabrielle and started to rub her back to comfort her. "Yes but I only managed to upset her before I even got to consider telling her the truth. She just walked away no goodbye or i'll be back when I cool off. She just stormed off. All I did was ask her how to tell someone that you are in love with them or how to find out how they feel. I do know she loves me but I dont know if she is in love with me." " I don't know what to do". Gabrielle leans forward and rests her face in her hands. "Hmm...I see, maybe she is in love with you and was upset at the thought of you loving someone else." "That's what I was thinking, but what if that's not it?" " I dont want to jeopardise our friendship by making things akward between us if she does'nt feel the same". "Well there is one way to find out. How about I talk to her and see if I can tell whether or not she does love you.?" "Yeah but Xena's not one to talk about her feeling's, that would never work." "Maybe, maybe not. I do have an idea. What if we..." Ephiny begins to make a plan with Gabrielle. Just outside the village is a very tense and distraught Xena. She had been there awhile thinking about the days previous events. You had to hurt her again didn't ya. She was only trying to talk to you, her friend, someone she feels the most comfortable with and you had to go and get mad. Why am I so jealous? I should be happy for her. It's not like she's mine. God's I wish she were, but I am no good for her. I only hurt her. Well miss warrior it's time to put on your best face and try to be there for her. It hurts, but she needs you, and this time you are not going to loose it. Xena then heads into the village to find Gabrielle and straighten things out. |
