Xena enters the village and sees everyone scurrying around with banners, cloth's and various woodworks. Hmm...looks like they are planning a joining cerimony. I wonder who the lucky couple is. Would'nt it be nice if it were for me and...stop it right now. You've made up your mind about that. She shakes her head. Well first things first I need to find Gabrielle. Carefully looking through the village, she sees that Gabrielle is nowhere to be found., Xena then turns her head towards Ephiny's hut. I bet she is with Ephiny. As she approaches the hut she is stopped by two guards at the door. "You cant enter. No one gets to see the honered before the ceremony takes place". "Oh, it's Ephiny, how wonderful. Who is she joining with today?" "Our Queen. They made the decision after our Queen returned to us. "WHAT! The Queen? She can't...not her." "I know we all are happy for them, but also each a little dissapointed that it wasn't us who claimed the Queen's heart. Ephiny is soo lucky." Inside the hut Gabrielle and Ephiny are watching through a tiny slit in the canvas. They see a very disturbed Xena wave her hands up in the air before shaking her head and then she whistled for Argo. Obediantly Argo approached and Xena quickly mounted her and galloped off. Gabrielle turned her back against the canvas and slid down to the floor placing her arms onto her knees. "I dont like this at all Ephiny. She seemed hurt. This is to dishonest. What kind of friend am I to put her through that?" "Now Gabrielle, they didnt lie to her. I am marrying our queen today. We cant help it if she thought that it was you they were talking about. That worked out perfectly. Besides she hasn't exactly given us much choice. You'll have plenty of time to make it up to her if my plan fully works." "I hope your right. I still don't know. Why do you think she was so angry?" "Makes you wonder huh? Perhaps we have our first clue." "Ephiny, it doesn't necessarily mean she's in love with me. She might just be upset at the thought of me making such a life changing decision and not telling her. She is supposed to be my best friend." "Don't worry Gabrielle. If I have my way, we'll find that out. Right now I need your clothes so I can sneak out and see what I can get out of her." "Be careful Ephiny. If Xena is in love with me, she wont be too happy to see you with what she's been thinking." Ephiny nod's in understanding and then prepares to leave. In the meanwhile, Xena is out in the forrest surrounding the Amazon village, working out her frustrations on a very unfortunate tree. After she finally calmed down a bit she began to talk to Argo. "That's why she didn't tell me who. She probably didn't know what I would think about that kind of relationship. She has the gift of prophecy, but she's not an oracle. Otherwise she would know how I feel about womm...no, about her. I can't stand the thought of Ephiny taking the only person I have ever truely loved. It should be me. I may not be ready for it to be me, but I am really not ready for it to be Ephiny. But she does'nt love me, she loves her. I have to do something. Maybe if she knew how I felt...? No I can't ask her to wait until I am ready, stable enough internally, to be with her. Even if she was interested. Then again wait for what? I am more stable now than I have ever been. I just don't know. Just then she saw Ephiny out the corner or her eye approaching on horseback. Great, this is just what I need right now. She then draws her sword and eyes Ephiny before speaking. "If you know what's good for ya, you'll turn around and forget you saw me." "Xena, why so angry? Are'nt you happy for us? I don't understand, I just want to talk to you." "I am not in the mood to talk to you right now." "Did I do something wrong?" Under her breath Xena mutters"Not yet I hope." "If you care about Gabrielle at all, you will talk to me now."
