"I have to say I thought that the first part was confusing. I was almost totally lost. I did not see the connection. But it all fell into place rather quickly after that. When I went back and re-watched the beginning teaser, I really appreciated it, now that I knew what I was looking at. I knew this was going to be a pretty humorous episode when the first joke came within the first 2 minutes after the teaser. I mean the crack by Mulder about all the drug dealers being at that one diner for the pie. (Would that be banana cream pie, Agent Mulder?) I was laughing from the moment they got back into the car after investigating the crime (murder?) scene. First, there was Scully's bone-head line, "Mulder! That's evidence!!" And his reply, that told her he knew it was a bone-head line, too, "Gee, I hope so..." That look he gave her was priceless, too. Now. The CD. That was hilarious!! "Heavenly shades of night are falling, it's twilight time." Mulder looks over at Scully as she looks up at the roof. When she looks back at him, he gives the most gorgeous smile!! Hee hee. And the lights of the car flashing.... it was too much. I was, however, expecting a little more caution from Mulder, just popping the CD into the car stereo system without thinking. Of "Phoebe and her Incredible Exploding Tape Bombs" (sounds like a band!), for instance. "10 to 1 you can't dance to it." I liked it when M&S told The Lone Gunmen that Donald was dead and Frohike goes, "A brother goes down." Aw, Fro, ya sentimental old fool, you. Scully looked so incredibly bored when she was sitting and reading TLG's newsletter. Heh heh. Poor thing. The "don't-mess-with-me" attitude she showed for the next day was probably because of the overload of paranoia she got from just one of those articles. I loved Goth-girl. (Yes, I know we should refer to her as "Invisigoth" or "Esther", but I like my name better, so.... I'm keeping it. ) I thought she was a great character. But, as with all cool characters on the X-Files, I knew she had to die within the episode or the next two. It's a formality. But she got some great stuff in before she made her exit. ie. To Scully, "Why don't you bite me?" To both of them: "Unless you got a warrant you two just busted in here and seriously violated a butt-load of my constitutional rights." Also, I really liked her little speech about "artificial slime" and "artificial life". When Action!Scully went chasing Goth-girl through the container yard, how did she manage to catch her? Goth-girl was younger, probably in better shape by the look of her, and wasn't in high heels. Plus, her legs were longer. But I guess Scully was trained for that sort of thing. I'm impressed. I loved that explosion. And the ones that followed. It's nice to see that kind of thing in a TV series. They're right, they make a feature movie every week. I don't know about all of you, but I love seeing Mad!Scully (aka Pissed!Scully). She made so many appearances in this episode!! Oh, and I liked Driving!Scully, too. We don't see her much. Again, (I can't say this enough) I love TLG. They're hilarious. Did you see Byers straightened his tie when they met Goth-girl? "She is so hot!" Scully looked very jealous of the attension Goth-girl was getting from TLG; and Mulder, to a certain extent. Well, dear, if you want some attension from those guys, you're going to have to give them something in return. But lets not go there right now. One more thing here, did you see Scully lick her lips after Goth-girl suggested she do the typing with her tongue? Scully had some pretty good lines in this ep... It seems to me the females were running the show. Another great femme scene is the whole bridge squance. S: "Oh, right. Death from above. I loved the scene where Scully gets up and checks on TLG. The are so pathetic!! All sleeping on each other, under communal blankets, snoring away in chairs? Aww... But then there goes Goth-girl with another good line, "Buenos dios Muchacha." And we get another look at Pissed!Scully when Goth-girl kidnaps her and makes her go driving. (Driving Miss Esther) "Dandy." "You are correct, Sir." And I liked Mulder's face when he saw his arms. Duchovny did a good job up to that point. Then it kinda went downhill. But I liked his whispered, "Jesus..." when he realises how badly he's been (virtually) burned. As soon as I saw the weird hospital and those Baywatch-blonde-bimbo wannabe's I figured out that the "virtual reality" part of the episode was here. Aw.. "Call my doctor... Can you just call Dr. Scully?" I think the special effects team deserves a hand (not one of Mulder's though) for those shots of Mulder without arms. I immediatly thought of our dear old friend, Rat-boy. It looked good, even in slow-mo and pause. Not cut-and-paste-y. Did you notice that Nurse Nancy was wearing a cross around her neck? It was silver, but looked identical to Scully's. 'Chinga' and 'Kill Switch' have not been good to Mulder. He hasn't looked all that intelligent or manly the past two weeks. In both of these episodes, Scully has run the show. I think that tells us something about the current X-Files writers. Almost all episodes revolve around Mulder, and as soon as they get a few guest writers, what do they do? Focuss on Scully. They've got the right idea. They see the potential. I liked how they incorperated so much of Mulder's mind into the VR scenes. Mulder is probably still afraid of losing his arms after that Russian black-cancer thing, and we know how much he loves porno... That explains the busty nurses. Plus, he must really think a lot of Scully for the AI to be able to fool him with that Ninja!Scully fight scene. "I had a bad dream... But then I had a good dream." "Those weren't dreams, Fox." I wonder what kind of virtual games the AI was playing with Mulder before that scene? Nurse Nancy? Can we get any cornier! OK, on to Ninja!Scully. That scene was... odd. Those fake punching sounds were almost too fake. But they pulled it off! And that was really Gillian doing those spinning kicks and stuff. You go girl!! (Too bad it had to be Mulder's imagination...) Too much like 'Ghost in the Machine' in the end. The computer still lives, waking up to come back later. I think we could have done without that. All in all, a fabulous Scully episode. I'm happy to see her get more recognition this season. You go, girl! BITE ME."

"This was an interesting episode to say the least. I suppose you really need to know computers well to appreciate it. I enjoyed greatly Scully's little fight with all those nurses. Of coarse I don't know if that was a stunt devil, but I'm hoping. Very nice effects concerning Mulder's arms. I have to say I think it was sort of obviouse that Mulder was dreaming that because they showed him losing his arms, I think it would have been more easy to accept and fool if they had just kept burning his arms to ash, this way you knew that he was dreaming and it was a little disappointing to know that he was going to wake up. On other points, in last weeks episode Scully seemed very open to ideas when she was Maine, now that she's back she seems even more determend to disagree with everything Mulder says. What happened here? All and all, this was a bit of a let down, I don't think they solved it very well and the plot seemed to have a lot of lose threads. The opening section was probably the best, to bad they didn't continue on from there"

"William Gibson's X-Files episode is one of the series best. Finally, the episode where Scully literally, instead of just figuratively, kicks dumb blond t.v. bimbo ass once and for all. What a classic scene, even if it was just a virtual ass kicking. Also, there was a interesting sexual undertone to Scully's fight scene. The thinking man's mud wrestling. Gibson's artificial intelligence loose on the net story, is an intriguing premise. Cyber-gothic Frankenstein. Perfect for a modern show inspired, in part, Chris Carter has said, by Mary Shelley's future positing gothic novel Frankenstein. Gibson plays on the idea of our creation of our own cyber world and cyber existence, and the choice we must make as to which is better, reality, or virtual life on the net. I particulary, liked the way the artificial intelligence utilized secret weapons systems and the method it used to dispose of it's creator, creepy, telling, 2001 Kubrickian and very X-ish."

"How to talk about 'Kill Switch'...um...different. That's the perfect word to describe this frightening episode. 'Kill Switch', being based on more modern phenomenon, was scarier than some X-Files episodes because a few years down the road what was described in 'Kill Switch' could really happen in real life. Though Mulder's visions were somewhat botherine with the big brested porno women, the amputations were really freaky, and seeing Mulder kick Scully was a nightmare. Let me just say, though, Scully kicking those womens' butts was awsome! "Twilight Time" proved as a surprise link to this freaky show, becoming a more scary song as the episode went on. David Duchovny's acting was superb and drew us into the terror Mulder was experiencing during those dream sequences."
-Christina O.-

"Overall, a well written and entertaining episode, but it didn't blow me away, you'll excuse the really lame pun. I really liked Esther's character (and her eye makeup), the great use of the Lone Gunmen, and the virtual reality nightmare. David did some great work in that scene. KungFu!Scully was hilarious, as was Mulder kicking her across the room. On the X-File itself, I really enjoyed all the techno stuff, being the computer junkie that I am, but I wonder if people who aren't that into computers got into it. Still, I liked the idea of the artificial intelligence and the kill switch. Good episode."

"In 'Kill Switch' the acting was good, but the plot, not so great. I liked the part in which Scully kicks all of those blonds buts! The parts in which they were talking about the computer systems weren't too smart. Most people aren't geniouses in the computer area, so they probably didn't get it. To me it was very intreasting because I'm a computer geek. The explosions were great though!"
-Ula B.-

"Wow. That was a real good episode. It wasn't really shippy, but it was still good. You could tell Scully was a little jealous of that girl at first. HeeHee. And Gillian! You can kick butt! What martial arts were you doing? I wish Scully really would take martial arts. Maybe Mulder could tell her about what he saw. Also, I really liked how this episode kept me on my toes."
-Crystal G.-

"This episode, although incredibly confusing to people unfamiliar with computers and the internet, was truly incredible. The special effects alone were outstanding. Poor Mulder was terribly abused throughout the hour. That type of physically demanding acting is deserving of an Emmy Award, or at least a Golden Globe!"
-Lauren H.-

"This was a really good episode. The fact that it was written by William Gibson really helped. The special effects and everything were good."
