Alab Balili Gonogon (ALAB, BALILI, GONOGON) National High School

ALBAGO is one of the baranggay (smallest political unit in the Philippines) high schools set up by the national government.  The school sits on top of a mountain called Tumuagan in barangay Balili, one of the barrios of Bontoc (the capital town of Mountain Province).  The lot where the school was built was donated by the Baggay clan, the family of Felipa Belwa and Agnes Peliyan.  The two-story building was a project of former Congressmen Victor Dominquez.  Opening its doors in 1996, the school has a population of 300 at present.  The school has nine teachers including the head teacher/principal, Mr. Pascual Sacgaca.

The Project:

The computer literacy program at ALBAGO was launched last November 5, 2001.  It has twenty (20) computers.  XiJEN set the room including the electrical installations, security window grills and chairs.  ALBAGO's counterpart was to provide the room and tables.

Enrollment:

The program was able to enroll eighty (80) students coming from the Freshman to the Senior years.

Employment:

The fees collected from the program was able to sustain the salary of the teacher, Ms. Janice Langis and pay for the electricity and related maintenance.

Concerns:

The program could accommodate more students through sponsorships from individuals, organizations and companies.  Learn how you can help.
