Rattles, rainsticks, ocean drums,
rasps, chachayotes

These instruments add different effects and beautiful sounds to the music of ancient Mexico. The sound of rain is immitated almost exactly with the tilting of the rain stick, and the sounds of the ocean drum makes audiences think that Danzas de Aztlan plays recordings of actual beaches. Gourde rattles and chachayotes made from the seed of the ayoyotl tree add a beautiful tone to the beats of the drums, and the rasps adds a sound that can be found nowhere else.
