HOW IT ALL BEGAN...
Way back in 1989, I was sitting in my high school Algebra class doodling with my pen on the back of my spiral notebook. The image I drew was one I had sketched out many times before, but this time inspiration motivated me to create some form of narration to that doodle. So I started with the words, "In My Eyes..." and after creating that (obscure) list of how I perceive the world through my eyes, I was pleased with myself...
Regardless of the fact that it was nearly nine months before I wrote another poem and even then nearly another two years before another one was completed, it was the beginning of something that would eventually become a pleasure, an escape, an outlet for my raging emotions, and later an obsession at writing all the time, then a chore that controlled me until I finally cracked...
If you take the time to read all of my poetry in chronological order (you would have to have a L O N G time on your hands to do such a thing), you will notice the evolution of my personality: from the innocence of discovery that I can write creatively to the depths of suicidal tendencies and the peaks of desire, lust, and passion; as well as from the insane moments of gibberish and clarity to the moments when I lost my faith in the religion of my family, to what I am now become. What I am now is too complicated to describe or for you to understand, even if you had the open-mindedness and patience to listen to what I believe and who I am.
So I have sorted my poetry into various collections for your convenience (and mine of course). You may read the poems in Chronological order or Alphabetic order.
NOTE: All of my latest poetry will be denoted with a
|new| after the title.
RATINGS...
ATTENTION: Concerning the nature of selected poems...
If a you see a poem that has an
(M) after the title, that means it is
Rated Mature and may contain either mature language or deal with mature situations that children should not be exposed to.
If you encounter a poem that has a
(T) after that title, that means it is
Rated Teen and may contain words or phrases that could be considered inappropriate for younger children.
I hold the parents of all children responsible for supervising the activities of their kids while online.
I cannot be held accountable for any consequences of a child's exposure to these mature poems. The internet is a publication medium that will always have a "freedom of speech" cause to it, no matter how many laws may be made in various countries around the world.
It is so unfortunate that so many parents just don't care or have time to teach their children about the difference between mature dialogue and lewd commentary. Suffice it to say that my poems are not intended to be lewd commentary, even if they may seem thus from your perspective. I am an adult and an artist. I will not sacrifice my art for the sake of those who cannot handle what I say or create.
As a public service, I have rated these poems according to the
PICS guidelines. Due to this, certain poems my not even open if you have activated a PICS-related content filtration program. I did this in order to show my responsibility for the protection of children. If you do not have a PICS-related filtration program running and are unable to access the specially marked poems, check with your ISP as many ISPs have automatic filtration of content as part of their services.
And yet I do have many poems that are meant to (in one way or another) enlighten, cheer up, and relate to children as well as to help out teenagers (and adults) who are going through rough moments in their life.
So read a poem and ...
Have a nice day!
p.s. I am hoping in the near future to create a search engine for the poems so that you may search for a phrase or word or emotion and see a list of poems that relate to your search. Also, I hope to eventually have a way for you to select a Mood, Subject, or Style that you are interested in from a drop-down list. But don't try waiting for that as it is not likely to happen very soon.
