Do The X-Files advertisers know what’s happening to the show?

So many have expressed their concern for the future of The X-Files if Mulder’s exit is handled badly, and if the partnership between he and Scully is treated as badly as the latest press indicates it will be. From discussion on the XF official site message boards, to discussions on various newsgroups, to entries in the guestbook on this website and the Brazilian XF for Mulder website, and through many personal emails sent to us because of this site, its apparent a lot of people share our concerns. And when you consider that the online community is only a part of the total X-Files audience, it makes you wonder how many more X-Philes there are out there who have the same thoughts.

From our own fears – which are based on wanting a just and dignified exit for Mulder – to the expression of ‘No Mulder, No X-Files’. From outcries against the dismissive attitude of CC et al. in relation to the Mulder and Scully partnership, to the anti-Doggett discussions… right up to those who are feeling a touch of all the above. It’s pretty apparent that the audience for The X-Files during season 8 – and most definitely for the proposed season 9 – will be a lot less than it has been in previous years.

So we thought you might like to let some of the advertisers know their $265,000 per 30 second advertising spot may miss their audience.

If you’d like to contact some of the advertisers, here’s a bit of information to help you. (Where possible, we’ve provided toll free numbers)
