Peta is an animal rights foundation. The name peta stands for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. Peta is involved in many animal rights movements such as vegitarianism, correct treatment of stage and circus animals, and the boycotting of many companies who currently perform animal testing. Many people/organizations look down on Peta for being so radical in their ideas. However their ideas support total animal rights. On the Peta web site one will find reasons to become a vegetarian, stop wearing fur, and buy more animal friendly products.
The Peta web site is extremely educational, and helpful in becoming an animal rights activist. It gives many reasons why we should not be harming the animals around us, and why we should try to preserve the animals.
Peta also gives lengthy explanations of what veganism and vegitarianism are. Veganism is the practice of eating no meat, or animal derived products. This includes abstaining from eggs, milk, cheese, and any other dairy products. Vegitarianism is much different. This is the practice of only abstaining from meat. Other animal products are considered perfectly fine to munch. Most vegetarians and nearly all vegans don't wear fur, or leather.
Peta also features news articles, commercials, lectures, and television broadcasts. Click the icon below to get to the Peta web site.
