My 1982 bargain (under 300quid!) XR2:

This is how the car was when I first bought it. It still looks
like this now, the only changes made are the introduction of my
stereo, 4 speakers and a custom XR2 badge (a Zetec XR2i one with
the ' i ' carefully cut off!). And as the clever ones will have
spotted - I've removed the ford lump from the grill on the
picture. I haven't finished this job in real life yet - I'm just
cheating here.
The other changes from new spec are the colour stripes, the lack
of aerial and a full mk2 XR2 interior.
In future I'd like to put in a complete mk1 XR2 interior. The
mk1 interior was much better (typical ford, the older the better)
with very nice two-part door cards and similar seats. The only
thing I DON'T want is the original clock. I've had an early clock
before and whilst the stopwatch facility is wicked the
illumination and digit/screen size are shite.
Other jobs include the replacement of both doors which are a bit
'denty' where they've obviously bean beaten-out in the past and
the spraying of the bodykit and mirrors.
