Banana Butterscotch Bread Ingredients 1 stick butter 2 eggs 3/4 cup sugar 3 ripe bananas, mashed 2 cups flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg 3/4 cup butterscotch morsels Cream together butter, eggs and sugar. Add bananas. Then add flour, baking powder, salt, baking soda, cinnamon, and nutmeg and blend together. Fold in butterscotch morsels. Place in two greased loaf pans and bake at 350 degrees for 28 minutes. |
Banana Sour Cream Bread Ingredients 2/3 cup butter or margarine 1-1/3 cups sugar 2 eggs 1-1/2 cups mashed bananas 2-3/4 cups sifted flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup sour cream 1 cup chopped nuts (optional) Cream butter with sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs and bananas; beat until well blended. Sift together dry ingredients. Add alternately with sour cream to banana mixture. Stir just to blend. Add nuts, if desired. Spoon batter into 9 x 5-inch loaf pan which has been greased and floured on the bottom. Bake in 350-degree oven for one hour and ten minutes or until tester is clean. Cool in pan 15 minutes before removing to a rack. Can be made in 4 small loaves - bake 30 minutes or until tester is clean. (Sometimes guests take a small loaf home!) |
