FAQ

x I am scanning but there is no information at all. What's wrong?

Maybe your firewall is set up to block packets to ports 137-139 or to block NetBIOS packets completely. Some providers block these packets themselves without telling its users. Try using the program with a different internet service provider.

x I work behind the firewall and program fails to operate correctly. How can I safely configure it?

You have to add 4 rules:

1) Allow outgoing UDP packets to reach the 137th port of any remote computer.
2) Allow incoming UDP packets from the 137th port of any remote computer to reach any port of your computer.
3) Allow outgoing TCP packets to reach the 139th port of any remote computer.
4) Allow incoming TCP packets from the 139th port of any computer to reach any port of your computer.

x I am scanning my own LAN, but at the "Scanner" tab there are resources of only Windows 9x computers. And I know that there are few Windows 2000/XP computers in my LAN, but I can't see their resources!

You have to enter the correct login and password at the "Settings" tab.

x Does xSharez Scanner support NAT (Network Address Translation)?

Yes.

x Can xSharez work through a proxy server?
A: No. xSharez works on a lower network level than proxy servers.
