Gus and I met in
upstate New York, where Gus had a Veterinary house call practice, and where I was working
as a Veterinary Hospital Office Manager and Grooming professionally. Gus was asked
to cover the hospital while my boss took a much-needed vacation, and the rest, as they
say, is history.
We are a "blended Kennel", (as opposed to a blended family). Gus had lived
with Danes as a child, and harbored a desire to own another Dane, and possibly start
showing. I had been in dogs since my teenage years, and had been competing in
conformation and obedience with Cardigans since 1987.
Shortly after we were married in 1999, Gus and I decided that moving to Pennsylvania would
give my children a better education and afford us better opportunities to do what we
enjoyed most...show our dogs!
My children are now grown, and we currently share our home with our various dogs, four
cats and a turtle named Spot.
We enjoy golf, gardening, travel and movies, along with our dog activities. We are
very active in our Church, the local all breed, obedience, and breed clubs, as well
national breed clubs. We enjoy entertaining fellow dog people on dog show weekends,
and introducing them to the charm of the Lehigh Valley.
Gus is currently establishing a Veterinary House Call practice in the Lehigh Valley that
caters to the needs of the Breeder/Exhibitor, and writing a book on the Giant
Breeds. I am working as a Retail Merchandiser, while building my own business;
Canine Training Unlimited, to provide obedience instruction and conformation handling
services. I anticipate applying for my AKC judges license in obedience and Cardigan
Welsh Corgi's within the next 3 years.
