Like many of the characters near the bottom of the list, Sakata Kentaro does
not make an appearance until later on in the series. When, he does make his
first official appearance, the information about him is astonishing. He is
the most popular guy in Naru's High School, he is also rich as well.
Although he has the girls at the high school swooning all-over him, he is
only after one girl and one girl only...Naru. Kentaro is first shown as a
"stalker", he first met Naru in grade school and ever since then,
he has kept detailed chronological notes about Naru...waiting for the time
he should make his first appearance to her. That moment would be their High
School Graduation. At first, he is depicted as a "perfectionist",
knowing how to make the ideal "perfect date". Although, his knowledge
and plan is excellent, he fails to see one important fact. You can't tell
a person's feelings.
Alls well, that ends well. Kentaro gives up on Naru because it is too troublesome.
Kentaro's idea is that if you have a girl right next to you then you should
go for her, instead of chasing after rainbows. Although, Kentaro is a character
who one might not get along well with, he proves to be quite and asset. With
his huge mechas and sports cars, he ends up to be the "Go-to guy"
when the going gets tough.
Character Note: Kentaro is not featured in the Love Hina manga. However, Akamatsu-san
wanted to have a rival for Keitaro and Iwasaki-san decided to make the character
someone whom can be hated easily and out came Kentaro.
