Kaio, aka King Kai is the Kaio of the North (for more info see the Other Kaios section). He lives on his own small planet with Bubbles the monkey and Gregory the cricket. Goku trains with him after being killed in the battle with Raditz, as Kaio's planet has a much higher gravity than on Earth, so it is good for training. King Kai can telepathically speak to the Z warriors so he helps them out sometimes. Some of the other Z warriors trained with him while dead during the Freeza saga. When Goku teleports Cell to Kaio's planet as he is about to self destruct, Kaio's planet is destroyed, and Kaio, Bubbles, Gregory and Goku have to live on the Snake Way (where people go when they die and make their way to Heaven or Hell). King Kai is well known for making jokes and puns, sometimes at inappropriate times, and often bad ones.
