Enjoy your own collection of llamas! Cousin to the camel, llamas can live 15-30 years. They have been domesticated for almost 6 centuries and originated in North America about 10 million years ago. Llamas sometimes spit to show dominance.
The barracuda is extremely swift, reaching speeds up to 30 mph, and can grow to up to ten feet in length. While they live in large groups when they are young, the barracuda prefers a solitary existence as an adult.
The Zoo Tycoon "Beast in Show" campaign was a nationwide search for America's favorite zoo animal superstar. Icing out nine other animals nominated by enthusiastic zoo supporters nationwide, 13-year-old Magnet emerged victorious after two weeks of ferocious competition.
Magnet requiles two files:
Reindeer are slightly smaller than their Caribou cousins and were domesticated in northern Eurasia about 2000 years ago.
The Reindeer requires two files:
The Asian elephant is smaller than the African elephant and is also distinguishable by its ears, which are smaller than those of its African cousin. The Asian elephant is native to the Indian subcontinent and southeastern Asia.
The Asian black bear is usually black with white on the chin and a striking white crescent on its chest. Also know as the moon bear, Asian black bears are excellent tree climbers. The most bipedal of bears, they have been known to walk upright for over a quarter of a mile.
During the cooler seasons, blackbuck are diurnal and active intermittently throughout the hours of daylight. As the temperature rises, however, they are more often seen grazing in the open in the early morning and late afternoon, sheltering from the sun for the rest of the day.
Legend has it that this creature lives both in the Himalayas of Asia and the mountain regions of North America. The name derives from the Sherpa word for rock, "Yah," and animal, "teh." Sightings of yeti have been reported since the late 1800s and as recently as the 1950s.
The bongo is the largest and heaviest forest antelope. These spiral-horned creatures are found only in special dense forest habitats from the Lowland Rain Forest of West Africa and the Congo Basin to the Central African Republic and Southern Sudan.
The mountain lion, also known as the cougar, panther, or puma, is the most widely distributed large cat in the Americas. Mountain lions are solitary, strongly territorial hunters who, unlike most cat species, may be active during the day.
The Plateosaurus (plat-ee-oh-sore-us) is a plant-eating dinosaur from the Triassic period. Its name means "flat lizard." Plateosaurus fossils have been found in France, Germany and Switzerland.
A massive sloth-like animal, the Megatherium was as tall as an elephant and could weigh upwards of eight thousand pounds as a mature adult. The Megatherium existed during the Ice Age.
The African Wild Dog is an endangered species. Typically, they are a mixture of black yellow and white; however, their patterns vary so drastically that one hardly ever looks like another. They are a social animal, and tend to travel in large packs.
These are "fancy" versions of already existing buildings such as restrooms. They will help to keep your guests happy.
Fancy Buildings require two files:
In case your zoo is located in the good old US of A, you'll want to plant the stars and stripes in a prominent location.
This includes a variety of different objects and items with a North African theme. Items include a new archway, pillars, decorative fencing, trees, etc.
This download includes Atlantis-themed content, including a gift shop, underwater ruins, decorative fencing, and more.
Create a successful Christmas Tree farm in your zoo. Includes Christmas Trees and reindeer.
This scenario requires three different files to run. Please note that these files will only run on the English version of Zoo Tycoon.
Your talents are needed to care for a zoo that houses some of the most dangerous carnivores from past and present. The initial buildings and exhibits are already in place: go forth and conquer.
A wealthy hotel tycoon has started a new beach resort in the Bahamas. He has decided to build a zoo near his hotel as an attraction to guests. He has put you in charge of selecting the animals for the zoo and making the zoo a success. He has set aside a large plot of land with many varied terrain types that he insists will be adequate for a wide variety of animals; he asks only that you choose a diverse selection of animals from around the globe.
The Beach Resort scenario requires three files to run. Please note that these files will only run on the english version of Zoo Tycoon.
