Chapter 2 –
Uncharted Territory
Kang and Raiden then
walked around and Raiden envisioned that Kang would be the one who would defeat
Tsung. He did not tell Kang that he thought that he would be the one because
Kang would get a feeling of overconfidence of dealing with the outcome of the
fight. Throughout the conversation, Raiden asked that if Kang was ready to
travel to the island that Shang Tsung is hosting the tournament at. Kang agreed
but also didn’t know where it was located because he wasn’t the select few that
knew it. Raiden then told him that he knew it and then by means of magic,
teleported to the island. Kang made sure that he had his sense with him.
On the other side of
the island, Johnny Cage pulled up with his huge boat with two of his servants.
He docked on what appeared to be a dock and got off the ship. With a duffle bag
and a suitcase, Cage walked to the island on foot. Cage then told the servants
to stay until he wants to leave. They stay put for the time being.
Cage looked around and
saw some other ships pull up by the docks and people began to walk off the ship.
Not ordinary people. People that looked angry or hell bent like they want to
trash something or quite possibly kill someone. Cage made sure to keep a good
distance from them but they came closer to them. A few of them stopped in front
of Cage a boasted about that a rich actor shouldn’t be here, after all, he just
acts. They rips the bag and suitcase from Cage but he keeps his cool.
‘Could be my time to
show off here.’ Cage thought.
One of the thugs
notice who Cage was and threatened that he really wanted to test the ability of
the fake actor. Cage took this a little harsh and got into a stance. The men
lunged at Cage and successfully dodged all the hits. Two guys hit each
other and the third man looked dumbfounded.
“Please, don’t fight
what you know will happen.” Cage sarcastically remarked.
The men then made
another lunged but again Cage dodged and the two men hit each other. They
started fighting with each other and the third man watched the two fight. Cage
picked up his stuff and left with the thugs attention diverted.
A rather loud horn
sounded and everyone looked over to see an old rustic ship cruising into the
docks. Cloaked figure walked off the boat and a man that looked old then walked
off with two ninjas. Cage thought that this might be Shang Tsung but didn’t know
who the ninjas were but knew the outfit of their association. Cage then also
noticed a boat that seemed familiar to him, following Tsung’s boat but turned to
dock on another pier. A woman got off and ran aboard the empty rustic ship. Cage
walked over and when she came out, Cage caught her off guard and she popped him
into the mouth.
“Don’t interfere with
police business.” Sonya said, angrily.
“I was just saying
‘hi’.” Cage responded.
“Oh… wait… I know you.
Your that actor on those movies.” Sonya looked a little surprised.
“Yeah, I am. Can I
shake your hand or should I expect a violent slap?” Cage joked around a little.
The two conversed a
little and Cage found out the mission that she was on. Turns out that she saw
Kano get on this ship and she followed it ever since. So everything
cancels out and he must be on this island somewhere. Cage mentioned that he
would help her find him. She advise not too since she doesn’t want his career
life in danger. Cage has some backtalk answer for that.
The two walked up to a
seem-to-be castle and entered. Tables with names were out and about. Cage found
his name right next to Sonya’s and Liu Kang. Cage wondered who Kang was until he
came in and sit down.
“I didn’t see you
arrive, how’d you get here?” Cage asked
“Oh, uh… The God of
Thunder and I teleported here.” Kang said to throw him off but the truth.
“Um, yeah.” Cage turns
his head as to say, ‘Psycho’.
