Chapter 8 – Raiden's test
“Sonya has now conquered her little fear that consumed her. That fear has finally been beaten and now has the will to do anything she would like to that fear. She now has past her test and has proven worthy of a human.” Raiden said to himself.
“Now, Liu Kang has a similar problem himself. He needs to understand that he can control his own destiny and no one else can control it for him. Destiny is an odd thing with this life. It knows the beginning and end of life and also, fate play around with destiny. If Liu Kang was destined to be preset at this tournament, then he should be here. There is no doubt that he should be here.” Raiden also said.
“Now since Liu Kang will hopefully learn of his destiny in the near future, my main focus now is Johnny Cage. The willing Cage will jump into a fight to prove that he is what other people say he is the opposite. He must understand that gifts like his are not meant to be toyed with.” Raiden continued as he walked to Cage’s match.
Johnny Cage arrives onto the battlefield. The opponent then shows up and this opponent knew who Cage was.
“Blast! I have to fight a little fake movie star. This guy thinks he can take on anyone he wants. Well, I got news for you Cagey boy, there are no cuts or first aid kits around here.” The opponent said.
“If you shut up I will show you that I am not fake!” Cage yelled with temper.
Raiden looked onto as if to say, step one.
Shang Shouted begin and Cage went over and knocked him aside the head. The opponent gave out a quick yelp and was a little shocked that Cage moved very quick. The opponent shook off the amazement and swung at Cage squaring him right into the mouth. Cage shook that off and went for a swing again. He missed and was met with a stiff arm in the mouth. Cage hit the ground and stared at the opponent.
“Ha Ha HA!!! I knew you were fake. Now to finish you off.” He said.
The opponent went to smash Cage face into the ground but Cage quickly moved and managed to punch the guy in his nuts. The opponent fell to the ground and shook around vigorously. Cage was quite proud that he knocked the big guy down. Raiden looked a little amused. He thought that Cage was beginning to think that he is not the best. The guy finally got up holding his genitals.
“You little shit. You may not fight as well as the movies but hell you know how to street fight. Well, guess what? I know that way too!” The opponent then went to punch Cage but knowingly noticing that Cage ducked and then kicked him in the shin. The opponent hopped around one bit and shook his leg. Cage measured his opponent and took one big leap and all of a sudden came down very fast and kicked the guy in his face. Some of the bystanders watching the fight couldn’t keep up to how fast that kick was and all they saw was his shadow trailing behind him. The opponent flew into the ground and seemed to be unconscious. Cage won his match and Raiden then walked over to him.
“Did you see that Raiden, I didn’t have to show off.” He said
“But you did. That little stunt of yours… now that whole world will know that your not a fake.” Raiden replied.
“I didn’t want to do any of my movie moves on him and so I made one up and a jump kick came to mind.” Cage said.
“… and brought out your energy in you and kicked the guy into oblivion.” Raiden also added.
“No… I just kicked him very quick.” Cage said and then looked at the guy.
A couple bystanders congratulated Cage of his victory but Cage also noticed that they were talking about his shadowy kick he did. Cage walked over to them in some sort of new self confidence. He started to brag about his shadow kick move and how he was trying to master it.
Raiden then looked at him with great shame.
“This guy is impossible.” Raiden slaps himself and walks away.
