Welcome to Bare-foot Diver's 1999 Vacation Pages

We went to three islands in Hawaii this year for our vaction in June. It was fantastic. We did some snorkeling but no scuba diving this trip. The prices for diving were distressing. I took many pictures of the fish and landscapes on this vacation. I must have four hundred or more. So I am going to share some of these with you here on my dive site. I do hope you enjoy them.

The First snorkeling trip we made was to Molonkini Islet. It is a State Preserve now. We went out on the "Pride of Maui. It is a dormant valcano cone that is mostly under water. After spending a few hours there the crew had prepared lunch and we all pigged out on Hamburgers, hot dogs or chicken sandwiches cooked on the massive grill at the back of the ship. There were plenty of side dishes and all day the drinks flowed freely.

The second part of this trip was to Turtle Town near Wailea, Maui. What fun this was as we swam with giant sea turtles. One even came so close I had to swim away from it for fear of disturbing it. It is highly against the law to disturb these giant turtles.

We all too soon reboarded the "Pride" and headed back to Ma'alaea Bay where the "Pride" is kept. It was a fun filled day with a wonderful crew.
