We spent the next few days exploring on our own and snorkeling at places that were listed in the guide books. The last day there we discovered where the best shore diving and snorkeling really was. That was at Honolua Bay on the north shore of Maui. We found sea turtles by the tens and several other interesting fishes. It was a short walk down many concrete steps to the white sand beach and the surf was not too strong so there were no surf boards, a few body boards but they were all off to one side.
