DC Comics MartiansDC Comics is usually thought of as the company that produced such cultural icons as Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman. Ask most comic book fanciers today to identify one of their lesser-known characters - such as the Blue Beetle or Booster Gold - and maybe one out of ten might recognize the name (and non-comic readers probably wouldn't have any idea what you were talking about at all).Ask these same comic readers who Martian Manhunter is, and they'll probably say, "Isn't he that green guy in the JLA?"
Unless, that is, you're a fanatic about all things Martian, like me.
This character has floated in and out of DC's current titles for decades now. During the disastrous Comics Code Authority witch-hunt years he suffered greatly at the hands of Silver Surfer/LSD inspired writers, and his own title was canceled. But the big green man from Mars must've had friends in high places, because the company kept the character alive by hiding him in the background of various Justice League of America titles (for those of you who don't read a lot of - or any - comics, and don't know what the JLA is, think of that frightening "Super Friends" cartoon, and you'll get the idea). This kept him alive long enough to be part of the late 70's re-vamping of the entire DC line, which saved the bacon of many characters, including J'onn J'onzz.
A writer/artist team would then re-make J'onn J'onzz: Martian Manhunter in the image of a kinder, gentler Martian, along the lines of Ray Bradbury's The Martian Chronicles.
I'd read Chronicles as a kid. I loved it. I then read the DeMatteis/Badger 4-issue comic book saga of Martian Manhunter and I fell in love with Mars all over again.
Hence all this.

What's The Point of All This?I'm a goon.A goon is someone dedicated enough to an unimportant subject that they'd read through tons of material, compile data, dream of impractical and implausible additions to this data, then spend their spare time making an enormous bandwidth-hog of a website about it.
That, and Martians are just plain fun to think about.
I wrote all this partly 'cause I couldn't find any pages like this out there. Sure there are Martian Manhunter pages, but little on the Martians themselves.
So I wrote my own.
'Nuff said.

What ARE You Trying To Accomplish
Well, I'm doing all this partly 'cause I hope I'm not alone in this fanaticism.
