Impact

Author's note: by definition, fanfiction is fan-based fiction. To me, an underlying prerequisite of fanfiction, therefore, is to keep a certain tone and mood that can be recognized by fans to be reminiscent of what work the fiction is based off of. I have decided to forget that sentiment for the duration of this piece. Instead of breeding off of familiarity, I will create it. Rather than remind, I will instill. Then again, in my own opinion, there really exists not a single work out there in the realm of Neon Genesis Evangelion that does any of what I am temporarily going to give up trying to do. I suppose, then, the only thing this story does to honor its inspiration is take its name, persons, and places. I hope that I will believe that those things will be enough to satisfy. This fic is highly inspired by Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six. Not much else can be said at this point in time, other than the determination that unless I become one hundred percent sure this fic will be completed, I will not send it out to other sites for the time being. I just don't want another dead-end project on my record, because those are very glaring.

I would also like to give thanks to Mr. X, aka SyxxLanx and his father for their knowledge and generous assistance towards my interests. Finally, I thank Mr. Ee Loong Toh for his constant attention and advice. He was there at the beginning of my writing history and experience, and has been trustworthy and accurate always.
