Suicide
poem by: L. Ron Hubbard

 | The Sum of a Man | Tommorrow | I Knew him When | Suicide | Dianetics Jingle|

I knew
I wouldn't
But there I sat.

I knew
I wouldn't
But there I watched

Parading bottles
And
A gun.

I knew
I wouldn't
But here I had
In sweaty palm
A thing
Called life.

It was some trinket
Shivering there
While I
With cruel hard lips
And long tight fingers
Watched
And held
That thing.

I knew
I wouldn't
Although
I knew
I could.

Note: This poetry was inspired by the tragic tale of suicide from a mining engineer at the time of  Ron's journey to Puerto Rico heading the island's mineralogical survey under the U.S.
