BRIIIIIIIIIING!!! Came the sound of an alarm clock. Y small tan hand hit the button and hung limply by the side. “Tiana Leeson, you get your butt down here now! You need to get to school!” shouted an irritated voice. The young girl sat up in bed and yawned. She sat up and turned on the radio. “Fine, fine. I’m up.” She yelled as she pulled on her uniform. She hated it. It was her first day and the uniforms for this school were weird, for the girls at least. She had to wear a short skirt and a t-shirt. She pulled her long black hair into a ponytail and put on her shoes. She slung her backpack over her shoulder and trudged downstairs. She ate breakfast and finished grooming. The woman who yelled at her smiled. “Morning gramma.” “Morning child. Hurry up. You’ll be late!” Tiana walked outside and watched as a few kids in almost similar uniforms run out. She sighed and followed, running at top speed.
Tiana eventually came up to a somewhat large building. She reluctantly stepped inside and went straight to the office to pick up her schedule. The office was kind of spacious and the secretary was a snotty one. “What?” “Hi, I’m Tiana Leeson, ma’am and I’m here to pick up my schedule.” “Oh right. Wait missy and I’ll also get someone to escort you to your classes.” “Oh that’s not really necessary is it?” “No. Fine schedule only.” “Thank you.” The secretary printed out a slip of paper. Tiana took it and looked at her classes. She left the office and proceeded down the hall to find her first class.
Yu-Gi and Ryou were discussing duel monsters when an Egyptian girl walked by. “Umm Ryou, is it just me or does she seem familiar?” “I don’t know Yu-GI, I feel as if I knew her too.” Tiana stopped and turned around. She faced the two boys and walked towards them. “Umm excuse me, uh I was wondering if one of you knows where room 122 is?” Ryou looked at her. “I do, and so does Yu-Gi.” “Do any of you have that class now?” Both Ryou and Yu-Gi pointed to themselves. She smiled faintly and held out her hand. “My name’s Tiana.” Yu-Gi shook it. “My name is Yu-Gi.” “And mine is Ryou.” She frowned slightly as she looked at the silver haired teen. “Have we met?” she asked him. Ryou blinked twice. “No I don’t remember seeing you anywhere.” Tiana shrugged and walked alongside the two boys. They arrived at class with five minutes to spare.
She walked up to the teacher and introduced herself to him. “Oh you must be the new student, well take a seat next to Ryou there and maybe either him or Yu-Gi can help.” Tiana sat next to Ryou and just stared at the other kids. They were having fun because they knew each other. She had no one to really talk to. ‘I hate being new.’ She thought. ‘I wish I was back home with my friends, not here in Japan with strangers.’ A solitary tear fell down her cheek. ‘My parents should have lived. I wouldn’t be here if that incident didn’t happen.’ She felt around her neck and pulled out a necklace with a small ring on it. She had found it near her parents’ grave last year and felt it was calling her.
She turned around and saw something she thought was strange. She looked at Ryou then the boy in the back. The boy in the back looked like Ryou except he was less frail looking and decidedly meaner. She saw him look into her eyes and she blushed and turned around. The boy in the back looked at her. /Hikari who is she? / //Her name is Tiana. Why? // The boy in back looked at her. /Never you mind. / //Fine. //
“Class we have a new student. Her name is Tiana and she is to treated nicely got it? She is sitting next to Ryou if you want to see her.” Said the teacher once the bell rang. She looked down at her desk. The class was overall boring. ‘I know all this already! How can they be so slow? God I hate this and this skirt is a little to short! The guys on the other side of me are staring and it makes me feel uncomfortable. Perverts.’ She thought as the teacher went over how to write and diagram a sentence. The boy in back noticed one of the guys’ stares and threw a pencil at them. One of them turned around and scowled. The boy smirked and continued to do so until the teacher saw it. “Mr. Bakura go to-“ “Time out, I know.” He smirked as he walked to the door. He paused quickly to flash a lady killer smile at Tiana. She blushed and looked away.
The rest of the morning went fine until lunch. She sat down and started to eat when three guys from her English class stood around her. “Hello there gorgeous how about you sit with us?” She continued eating and didn’t say anything. “C’mon new girl. It’ll be fun. Its just me and the guys.” She didn’t respond. The third guy finally had it. He gently took her tray and moved it to another chair and pulled her out of her seat. “When the boys say sit, you sit!” he told her in a low voice. She stood there and didn’t move. She felt something hit her shoulder. Two tears fell down her cheeks. “Leave her alone!” came a voice in a deadly low whisper. She looked for the source of the voice. It was the Bakura kid from English. He shoved the boys out of the way and gave her, her tray back. She sat down and resumed eating. He sat next to her. “Why did you let them do that?” “I don’t fight unless I have to.” She replied. Bakura looked at her and smirked.
Tiana went home and ran right upstairs to her room. Her grandma came in and saw her with her headphones on and doing homework. She went back downstairs to her husband. “Earl, I worry about her. She keeps to herself to much.” “Its nothing Wilona. She just misses her parents. She’ll be over it in time. But for now let her be.”
Ryou sat on his bed while his aibou walked back and forth. “Where dose this girl live?” “I don’t know.” “Fine. I’ll find out in due time. I need to find out where she lives.”
Tiana left the house and went to the park to finish her homework. At the same Time Bakura walked out of his house and right into her. She fell and he fell on her. They looked at each other. She blushed in embarrassment and giggled. Bakura crawled off her and scowled. She pick up her book and papers and stood up. He stood up too. “What are you doing?” they asked at the same time. “Going to the park to do homework.” they both replied. They stepped away from each other and headed off to the park.
When they got to the park they started their homework. “How do you figure out number five?” he asked her. She told him. They continued to work together on the homework until they were finished. After that they looked at each other. “What’s your name?” “Bakura.” “Mine’s Tiana, well I’m sure you know by now. Heh.” He smirked. She smiled a little. They stood up and walked next to each other to her house. “I better get inside. Gramma gets worried.”
Bakura smiled and waved goodbye to her. Tiana walked in to find her gramma standing at the door. “You buster! Get over here now!” the elderly woman shouted. Bakura looked at her and walked up to her. “Were you just trying to put moves on my granddaughter?” “No he wasn’t gramma.” “Wilona! Leave them alone. They are teens.” Wilona rolled her eyes and walked away. Tiana faced Bakura with a tearful face and ran inside. Bakura stood there puzzled and walked home slowly.
Tiana sat on the chair in front of her grandma. “Gramma why did you have to do that? All he did was say bye and nothing else happened.” “Honey I was making sure he wasn’t one of those weird boys who you know.” Tiana got out of the chair and ran up to her room. ‘I hope I can face him tomorrow.’ She thought miserablely as she went to bed.
