METRICATION IN HONG KONG WEBPAGE, HOW WELL IS THE HKSAR DOING?
HONG KONG IS SO BACKWARD IN THE METRICATION CHANGE
(Mainland China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Australia, Canada all have completed the process. The HKSAR is far lacking behind and even moves backwards.)
You can witness this statement in the major supermarket chains in the territory (the pounds of bananas or meat!), the square foot of property sales, the reduction of pounds of fat to keep slim, and many many places. What a pity after so many years of metrication education and supposedly government efforts!
As China moves forward, Hong Kong is moving backwards. This is not only true in politics and economics but also in its metrification (or metrication) --- which had achieved some proud advances but all efforts started to go down the drain in the late 1990s, particularly since Tung Chi Hwa's administration of the HKSAR took over.
