the house
smaller before
up thirteen steps one
giant room sits;
waiting for someone to
finish building him
watch the worrisome in
window's paned glass
its fog--its trees outside
a wasp dwells between the
glass and the screen
crawling up
looking for that "just big
enough" opening
three wasps the next day
racing slowly toward that
place in the middle
that way out
third day the three lie dead
on the sill. . . . .;
Only to be gone from the window
on the fourth
two wasps on the fifth day appear
appearing in the same manner . . ..
Only to be dead on the sixth
. . .and gone the seventh.
going up the stairs on the third
maybe fourth
month
the room on the right lighter
than the left
contained many wasps
over a thousand where
they lived until i found them
. . . . .and I found them dead
and the worrysome in the paned-
glass window had left
and all was well
